Sabel raced through the Dark Palace as fast as she could. Her large scythe swing back and forth between hands restlessly as she raced for one of the last remaining windows into the realm of Waking Dreams. Her large hooded cloak completely covered up her head as she raced against the crumbling castle to reach her goal. Large tremors shook the ground and she lost her footing with a startled scream. A mans arm reached out and grabbed her around the waist pulling her to her feet and helping her stumble along at a quick pace.
“Thank you Scythe, now return to your form” she told the man hurriedly. The man nodded silently and her scythe returned to her hands as she continued on her way. She saw the door in the distance and hurried faster, grabbing shadow and darkness from around her feet and shaping it with the remaining forces that remained to her. Sabel finally stood in front of the door and threw the darkness out the window, where it quickly took the form of a black falcon and soared overhead before disappearing. Sabel stood, Scythe at her side as they watched the falcon disappear into the distance.
“Do you think we’ll find him before its too late…?” Scythe asked her. Sabel leaned heavily against him, finally exhausted as she felt her control begin to waver.
“I can only hope so Scythe, I can only hope….” They stood there together in the land where dark things lived and breathed with grim expressions and a faint spark of hope in their eyes.
